The butterfly counts not months but moments,
and has time enough.
Well it's Friday again,
I do love finishing up work on a Friday, it is such a good feeling to know that out of every 7 you get to be in charge of 2 of them.
We have some quite exciting weekend plans brewing in the wings, the involve travel by train, tram, ferry and bike. I look forward to regaling you with our adventures ( once we've had them)
Tonight I think I may actually fall asleep on the sofa, I am very tired and feel a little bit down trodden by the week. I keep looking at my calender and am counting down the days till I am free again, I can't wait to start getting up each day with a feeling of complete excitement in my stomach - not knowing where we will be or what we will find. I long for getting lost, finding my way and having to maneuver my way out of trouble ( not big trouble you understand)
El has a similar feeling I think we are just about fed up with working - her boss is a tool from the sounds of things and it can't be nice for her sat all alone everyday. I feel like I have sold out completely. The fact is we have both worked very hard, no sick days, no real holiday time and given it 100% Soon it will be time for us to kick back, relax and do what it is we came to do.
I hope your weekends are delightful in every way Dad told me that last weekend Brighton had some cracking sunshine I hope the rest of you were that fortunate.
Love to you all

F1
Hello,
Well I do hope you are all well - We are fine, this morning I was awoken by Formula 1 cars racing around Albert Park ... I was not best pleased!
Last night we ventured to Melbourne's Aquatic centre - It really is quite something, they have an Olympic size indoor pool, a huge out door pool, 2 smaller pools and a wave pool.
I was so excited about the wave pool, then 150 children descended from nowhere. As I was the only person in the pool over the age of ten I had to get out and swim in the boring pools!
Tonight we are finishing applications for ski jobs, and having a quick beer into the bargain.
This weekend we are going to buy an all area transport pass and just hop on hop off all over the city.
Nothing much else to report - love to you all

That friday feeling
Well, It's Friday let's start there.
What a week, this weekend I am looking forward to relaxing.
Tonight we have a friend from work and her husband coming over for dinner, then we may go to the pub for a pint or two. We have free tickets to the travel expo so we may go to that to look for
cheap deals on travel.
I am also going to start looking at flights for my holiday home to England - I am so excited I feel like I might explode. I will be in Brighton for at least a week to catch up with everyone but the main reason for my home coming is Nan and Grandad's anniversary it's a big one ( that is all I will say ) and I am so looking forward to celebrating it with them.
I promise to put some photos on over the weekend, El has taken at least 6000, so I really should share some !!
Enjoy you Friday, I can say that now mine is over!!
Lots of love

Well a lot has happened, I am aware that I have been a little blog slack. You know when you're really letting the side down when you ring your mum for a friendly chat and the first words out of her mouth are " What's going on with the blog"
I think the time is just running away with me, can you believe we've been gone for over 5 months, almost half a year The weather is finally starting to reflect the seasons we know and love, we've had rain, thunder, high winds and yesterday Australia treated us to our second earthquake in as many weeks!!
I never did tell you about our adventures when Rachel and Helie were here with us, we had a lovely time in Apollo bay, the house was just beautiful and although the weather wasn't perfect we did have one sublime day of lying in the sun and swimming ( with a spot of surfing thrown in for good measure ) we managed to BBQ and eat really well and when we got back to Melbourne even the sadness of returning to work couldn't keep us from having fun, we had some lovely evening, hanging out in the bar, having dinner or watching movies. The weather was a little shocking so we were prevented from too much outdoor activity but we did make it to the casino one night!
When Rachel left we got to keep Helie for an extra week, and when Helie left it felt so strange in the flat. It is quite amazing just how much you can miss your friends and family, El and I seem to take it in turns to have our days, I did not know that I had the capacity to miss people this much and still function, It is the distance that really gets to you, we are just so so far away.
Well our working time is coming to an end. Tonight we have a crisis meeting - this takes place in the pub and over a pint of Carlton draft we are going to decide whether we do a ski season, or if we get a van and go for it travelling around Australia.
I think we'll head to the slopes, it's good money, I'm sure it will be fun and more importantly El has emailed me her cover letter today so I think her mind is pretty made up... best dash or I'll be late ..
Love to you all

Where to start, gosh a lot has occurred since my last blog, doesn't time fly?
I can't really believe that it is March, how did that happen I wonder.
Today marked my return to work, but that's not the exciting bit so maybe I should take you back in time and recount the exciting and fearless adventures of Leah and El ...
Friday before last I guess was where the fun started, the 20th of February - It was our last day of work and so we thought we'd go out for a drink or two, as you can imagine we headed to our local bar, the bar where all the staff know us and all the locals are friendly and I can now engage in friendly banter with any of them for an hour or two without even buying a drink!
El had planned to go to a club with some of her work colleagues and being that I'm not really into clubs I thought I'd finish my beer and head home for a quiet night in and a good book.
These things never work out really do they? I ended up chatting to one of the locals, a 50 year old guy named Dec, he works in the local restaurant as a head chef and has the most incredible hobbies, like Rav jumping ( running down/ or jumping down the front of buildings ) skydiving into the sea and other such extreme activities. The local bar staff ensured I had a drink at all times and at 3.30 am when they closed the bar I got to hang out with them and pull my own pints!! I had such a fun night, as did El but we both felt pretty poorly the next day!!
Saturday was a day of total relaxation - apart from the small amount of cleaning we had to do for Rachel and Helie's arrival.
Sunday the girls arrived - El met them from Southern Cross and then we went for breakfast and a catch up, they did so well and managed to stay awake till 8pm and we did put them through their paces, we took them to the fruit and veg market, to the shops, to the bar, and then cooked vegetarian lasagna.. poor little things.
I was pretty Ill at this point, I lost my balance felt like the room was spinning and felt permanently as if I was going to vomit - it was pretty horrible, so while they were in town, eating dinner in the docklands and basically purchasing every item of clothing that Melbourne has ever produced I was lying on the sofa feeling pretty poorly!
Every night I did however enjoy the " look what I brought" section of the evening, I loved it even more when they brought me presents!!
I went to the Dr's on Tuesday and they gave me some medicine which restored the world to it's correct stillness. This was pretty fortunate as on the Wednesday we were setting off for Apollo Bay and our 3 night holiday house.
I really would like to tell you all about it but I have to run on home now.. or at least to meet the others in the pub for a swift half, but tomorrow I promise to tell you all about our adventures, I may even have some photo's for you !!
Much love to you all
